Even with the game on the line in Tuesday’s Big Ten game between Iowa and Michigan State, Caitlin Clark showed her approachability. Everyone knew who would get the ball in the last seconds, but not the standout player for the Hawkeye women’s basketball team. She scored the game-winning shot by pump fake, dribbling, releasing a stride back, and shooting. With 40 points, five assists, and three steals in the game’s conclusion, Clark put on yet another amazing exhibition of exceptional play.

She made eight long-range efforts flawless, including the game’s most important shot. Michigan State lost against Iowa, who are currently 14-1 overall and 3-0 in Big Ten play, 76-73 in the end.

Even still, one individual voiced her displeasure with Caitlin’s amazing performance, even though everyone was amazed by it. Head coach of South Carolina Dawn Staley bemoaned the officiating that let Iowa’s outstanding player, Caitlin Clark, create history with a jumper that was seen by all.

“Heck of a shot, but credit the ref for the shooting foul call,” Staley wrote on social media in response to comments made by fans. This was taken by some to mean that Clark didn’t release the ball in time. Nevertheless, Iowa led 73–71 because to two long-range free throws from Molly Davis.
