On Monday, one of the Dallas Cowboys’ most potent offensive weapons was lost, but not before they put up a fight.

Tony Pollard, a running back, left The Star after five years by signing a three-year, $24 million contract with the Tennessee Titans.

Nevertheless, according to The Athletic, Dallas was “in on” the 26-year-old ball carrier until the very end, so the Cowboys made an effort to get Pollard back.

The Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants had interest as well.

In contrast to last week’s allegation that he was prepared to accept a wage reduction in order to remain in the Lone Star State, The Athletic claims that Pollard chose to accept the greater compensation.

Rather than staying put, Pollard travels to Nashville in an effort to cover the Derrick Henry-sized hole in the backfield.

Pollard scored 15 touchdowns on the ground while rushing for more than 1,000 yards in each of the previous two seasons. This season, he started all 17 of the Cowboys’ games and finished third on the team with 55 catches.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones and employees have been connected to Henry, therefore the team has started focusing on other running back prospects.and Saquon Barkley, the former star of the New York Giants, should their prices decrease.

The Cowboys must also decide whether to keep running back Rico Dowdle, who along with Pollard was the last healthy ball carrier on Dallas’ active roster when free agency opened.

The hunt for Pollard was unsuccessful. There are still plenty of alternatives available for the American team, even though the Cowboys must now consider what to do in the backfield moving forward.
