While Jan Paul van Hecke has joined Tottenham’s growing injury list during the international break, there have also been encouraging developments regarding several other key players.
Dejan Kulusevski is reportedly making excellent progress in training as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
According to recent reports, the Swedish midfielder could potentially return to the Tottenham matchday squad in the coming weeks, provided he avoids any setbacks during his rehabilitation.
Wilson Odobert closing in on Tottenham return
Spurs supporters were given another positive update recently when it emerged that Xavi Simons is ahead of schedule in his recovery from an ACL injury. The Dutchman has already returned to outdoor training as he continues his rehabilitation.
Now, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has offered an update on another Tottenham player recovering from an ACL problem — Wilson Odobert.
The winger suffered the serious injury during Tottenham’s clash with Newcastle in February and has now spent around eight months on the sidelines.
According to Gold, Odobert has entered the latter stages of his recovery and could potentially return to training within the next month or two.
Gold wrote: “It will be eight months into his rehabilitation when the international break ends and Odobert will now be in the latter phases of his recovery. It may not be too long before we see the winger back in training. The usual nine-month timeframe points towards a November return but he will be pushing for sooner.”
Tottenham summer signing could also return soon
Mykhailo Mudryk suffered an ankle injury during training last month, just days after the Chelsea loanee made his first competitive appearance in almost two years.
The Ukrainian is expected to remain sidelined until the latter part of October, meaning his potential return could provide another major boost for Roberto De Zerbi.
A comeback for both Mudryk and Odobert would be particularly welcome given Mathys Tel’s struggles so far this season.
There is also some positive news regarding Pedro Porro, with the severity of his injury reportedly less concerning than initially feared. The Spain international is expected to miss only around three matches before returning to action.
