‘REPLACEMENT AGREED’: Spurs Secretly Contact European Giant Boss as Managerial Crisis Reaches Boiling Point!”

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly turn their attention to former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe if Roberto De Zerbi’s difficult start to the season eventually leads to a change in the dugout.

De Zerbi has come under increasing pressure following Tottenham’s disappointing opening to the 2026/27 campaign. Spurs entered the international break at the bottom of the Premier League after failing to win any of their first five league matches, while their Carabao Cup campaign also ended with defeat to Liverpool.

With questions now being raised over De Zerbi’s long-term future, reports suggest Tottenham’s hierarchy could be examining possible alternatives should the club decide to make a managerial change.

One name that has emerged is Eddie Howe.

According to Football Insider, former Tottenham senior scout Bryan King believes Howe would be among the names Spurs could consider if De Zerbi is dismissed. King pointed to Howe’s experience in the Premier League and his previous work at Bournemouth and Newcastle as reasons why the Englishman could be considered for the position.

Howe is currently available after leaving Newcastle during the summer, with Matthias Jaissle subsequently taking charge at St James’ Park. The Premier League’s official manager overview confirms that Howe stepped down after almost five years in charge of Newcastle.

The former Newcastle boss has already been linked with Tottenham previously. In February, TEAMtalk reported that Howe’s name had been raised and discussed at board level as Spurs considered potential managerial options.

That previous interest could make the 48-year-old a candidate if Tottenham eventually decide that a change is necessary.

However, there is currently no confirmation that Tottenham have formally approached Howe or that an agreement is being negotiated. The reports point to his name being discussed as a potential option rather than a completed managerial process.

For now, De Zerbi remains Tottenham’s head coach, but the pressure surrounding the Italian has made the identity of a possible successor an increasingly prominent talking point.

Should Spurs eventually decide to part ways with De Zerbi, Eddie Howe could therefore become one of the names under consideration as the club looks for a new direction.
