Regarding his first TdF victory, Tadej Pogacar said, “I still get a few angry stories about me in Slovenia”
Tadej Pogacar has refrained from joyfully celebrating winning his first Tour de France. In a 10-page exclusive interview, the Slovenian admits as much in the current issue of RIDE Magazine featuring the Tour de France. The publication is available for purchase online and in stores. Pogacar said, “It was not the homecoming I had wished for as a Tour winner.”
Following their son’s maiden Tour de France triumph, the Pogacar family’s humility was made very evident. Following Tadej’s victory in the 2020 Tour, the tale of Primoz Roglic losing the Tour from a virtually won position was arguably even more significant in Slovenia than Tadej’s triumph in the most significant cycling race at the age of 21.
The finest result that year would have been Roglic winning the Tour at La Planche des Belles Filles and Pogacar winning the climbing time trial, but Tadej Pogacar has not dared to celebrate his maiden Tour de F. She admitted candidly, “We had mixed feelings.” ”
Primoz is highly esteemed in Slovenia. Then, on the penultimate day, he is unexpectedly defeated by a rookie in the most significant race. Most individuals found that very offensive. Many even felt enraged at Tadej.”
