A player for the Memphis Grizzlies is suspended unexpectedly.
At the age of 19, GG Jackson became the youngest player in the NBA when he inked a four-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, shocking the whole basketball community. He received the best possible prize for his better play, but it appears that he may be dealing with some personal problems off the court.
Taylor Jenkins, the head coach of the Grizzlies, disclosed that GG Jackson was sitting out the game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a rule infraction. However, since he isn’t listed as unavailable for tomorrow’s game against the Houston Rockets, it appears like the suspension might only last one game.
An interesting point to consider is that Jackson acknowledged last week that the Grizzlies had penalized him four times in the previous two months. Regarding the infractions, he even met with Zach Kleiman, general manager of the Grizzlies.
“Earlier in the year, I had a meeting with Zach [Kleiman] because I had gotten fined, I think like my fourth one in two months,” Jackson stated the previous week. “Yes, it was awful. He gave me everything, the rundown. I’ve been on my Ps and Qs ever since. These things that happen outside the court, in my opinion, also affect how well you perform on it.”
It’s unclear exactly what GG Jackson did, or what the fines and one-game penalty were for. Hopefully, these are just small setbacks that won’t stop the budding star from realizing her full potential and going on to great things.
