Leeds United hit with TERRIBLE SAD NEWS on Monday Evening after Reports from Sky Sports confirms….

Leeds United have given themselves plenty to feel positive about during the opening weeks of the Premier League season, but Daniel Farke will now have to navigate a difficult spell without three members of his squad.

The Whites have made an encouraging start to their latest Premier League campaign, establishing themselves among the early contenders for the European places and showing that last season’s return to the top flight was no fluke.

Farke’s side have looked particularly difficult to break down, with their defensive organisation helping them collect important points while several of their summer additions have settled quickly.

But the international break has also provided a timely reminder that even the best start can be tested by injuries.

Leeds are currently preparing for their next Premier League assignment against Arsenal, and Farke still has three players unavailable.

Joe Rodon, Harry Wilson and Mateo Joseph remain in the treatment room, leaving the Leeds boss with decisions to make before the trip to north London.

Three players remain sidelined:

Rodon is the most significant defensive absence.

The Wales international suffered a hamstring injury during Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Brentford after being forced off after just 34 minutes.

Farke subsequently confirmed that the centre-back would be out for an estimated eight to 10 weeks, describing the injury as serious and calling it a “big blow” because Rodon is a key player for his side.

The timing was particularly unfortunate given the defender’s importance to Farke’s plans.

However, Leeds have managed to cope with his absence so far, with the defensive unit continuing to produce impressive numbers.

Tarik Muharemović has taken on increased responsibility alongside Nico Elvedi, while James Justin also provides Farke with the versatility to operate in central defence when required.

Rodon is therefore not expected to be available for the Arsenal trip.

His estimated return is currently around November 7, meaning Leeds will need to continue finding solutions until he is ready to return.

Wilson is the other first-team player whose absence could become increasingly relevant.

The forward picked up a quadriceps problem after Leeds’ victory over Newcastle, with Farke subsequently confirming that he would miss the following fixture.

The injury is not believed to be as serious as Rodon’s, and a return against Arsenal has not been completely ruled out, but the latest injury information still lists Wilson as sidelined with an estimated return date of October 10.

That makes the Arsenal fixture particularly interesting.

Wilson could potentially return around the same time as Leeds’ trip to the Emirates, but Farke will have to assess his fitness carefully after the international break.

Then there is Mateo Joseph.

The young forward remains unavailable after returning from his loan spell with Real Mallorca carrying a knee injury.

His situation is considerably more long-term, with his current estimated return not until January 2027.

That means Joseph is unlikely to play any part in the immediate period ahead, leaving Farke to continue without one of his attacking options.

Arsenal awaits

The timing could hardly be more interesting for Leeds.

Their next Premier League fixture is a trip to Arsenal on October 10, giving Farke a significant test immediately after the international break.

Arsenal represent a major step up in opposition and will provide a much clearer indication of how Leeds cope when their squad is stretched against one of the division’s established sides.

The good news for Farke is that the injury list has remained relatively contained.

Current reporting identifies only Rodon, Wilson and Joseph as Leeds’ injury concerns, rather than a wider squad crisis.

That is particularly important because the rest of Farke’s midfield and defensive core remains available.

Ethan Ampadu, Anton Stach and Ao Tanaka have formed an important part of Leeds’ impressive start, while Muharemović has taken advantage of Rodon’s absence to continue establishing himself at the back.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also provided an important focal point in attack.

Farke therefore does not have to completely reshape his side.

Instead, the challenge is maintaining the level that has already made Leeds one of the more difficult teams to beat.

The Arsenal trip will provide the ultimate test of that depth.

Rodon’s absence means Leeds will once again have to trust their alternative defensive options against elite opposition, while Wilson’s potential return could give Farke another attacking option if he is deemed fit enough.

Joseph, meanwhile, remains a longer-term concern.

For Leeds, the objective is simple: keep collecting points while waiting for their injured players to return.

Farke has already shown that he can build a competitive side without having his entire squad available.

Now comes a considerably tougher examination.

The Leeds boss has helped his team make an excellent start.

But with Arsenal waiting on October 10 and three players still sidelined, the next stage will test whether the Whites have enough depth to maintain that momentum.

And with Rodon still some weeks away, Wilson’s fitness uncertain and Joseph facing a lengthy absence, Farke will know that his squad cannot afford many more setbacks.
