Michigan Wolverines Overcome Adversity in ReliaQuest Bowl Victory
In a thrilling display of resilience and determination, the Michigan Wolverines emerged victorious in the 2025 ReliaQuest Bowl, defeating the LSU Tigers 31-27 in Tampa, Florida. This hard-fought win capped a tumultuous season for the Wolverines, showcasing their ability to rise above adversity and prove their mettle on a national stage.
The game began with Michigan struggling to find its rhythm. LSU’s aggressive defensive front caused problems for Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who was sacked twice in the first quarter. Cornerback Will Johnson delivered the game-saving play, breaking up a potential touchdown pass on fourth down to seal the victory.

Harbaugh, who faced scrutiny following an NCAA investigation earlier in the year, praised his team’s ability to stay united. “This group never gave up,” he said. “They fought for each other and for the pride of Michigan.”
The victory also served as a fitting farewell for several senior players, including Corum and offensive lineman Zak Zinter, who expressed gratitude for their time in Ann Arbor. “This program has given me everything,” Corum said. “To go out with a win like this is something I’ll never forget.”
